Maxwell (Max) is the proud owner & operator of Uptown Botany. He has gardened professionally for four years, and privately for much longer. Max achieved Volunteer Master Gardener status from Michigan State University Extension in 2021 as a means to further his home horticulture knowledge, plus engage with and enrich his community through his love of gardening. Volunteering at the Wayne County WIC garden is a major highlight of his Extension Master Gardener career.
At work, his favorite tasks include: pruning and shaping ornamental shrubs and trees, designing new garden beds, and hedging Yews.
When he is not at work you can often find him in his own gardens with his cat, Rock Lee. Aside from gardening, Max also has a deep appreciation for the art of carpentry and enjoys helping friends and family with home projects ranging from food gardens to full kitchen remodels!
